The last thing we’ll ever see of Alshon Jeffery in a Gamecock uniform

This was this past weekend, when South Carolina wide receiver Alshon Jeffery got kicked out of the Capital One Bowl against Nebraska for this fight with Alfonzo Dennard. Both players are first round projected picks of ESPN Todd McShay’s board.

Jeffery has presented us with many highlights during his extended stay at the East Coast’s version of USC, including one that prompted a post of mine last season when he grabbed a pass against Alabama and practically ran the defender off of him into the dirt. That was a great play, and a play we can possibly expect to see at the next level.

There’s no denying Jeffery’s physical attributes, as well displayed in the video above. Although, Jeffery leaving for the NFL may be more because he’s ashamed a defensive back got the best of him. As my dad remedied watching the highlights, “It looks like the cornerback was the guy who did more.” Yes, but both were thrown out. So Jeffery’s career has ended by losing a fight against another NFL prospect.

Jeffery will likely be the second, third, or fourth wide receiver taken in the NFL Draft and thus we can expect something from him at the next level — whether it be dominating, game breaking plays like we saw last year against Alabama and numerous other times during his career or immature, petty fights like this one…
