Had to do it. A lot of playoff memories at Candlestick Park. These two almost identical:
This 25-yard pass from Steve Young to Terrell Owens (then a virtual unknown) was scored with :03 left in the game vs. the Green Bay Packers. The 49ers took the lead, 30-27, with the touchdown. Owens followed up this catch by becoming a superstar, then a villan, then washed up and unable to accept leaving the game.
This 14-yard touchdown from Alex Smith to Vernon Davis was scored with :09 left vs. the New Orleans Saints and gave the 49ers a 36-32 lead. Davis, arguably, has been an overlooked tight end in the league, but his results at the NFL Draft Combine years ago are still staggering — especially for tight ends.
