Giants GM Reese tells Trey Wingo he’s happy to have drafted a football player

I don’t know how many of you were watching the NFL Draft today on day three, but those of you who did may remember an interview ESPN’s Trey Wingo had with New York Giants GM Jerry Reese.

Wingo asked Reese about picking Virginia Tech running back David Wilson in the first round. Reese, who appeared not to have a clue who they’d drafted in the first round (as assumed when Reese took a second to look down at his notes), made some really lame comments about what the Giants liked about Wilson.

“He’s a football player. He’s what we like to call a football player. There’s a lot to like about him. We’re happy to draft a guy who’s a football player,” Reese stumbled into saying.

There’s a lot to like? You mean besides the fact that he’s a football player?
