Basketball, nba, NBA Draft, ncaab May 31, 2012 2 Comments

1. New Orleans – Anthony Davis, Kentucky Not going to say anymore than I already have about how great Davis is (read this or that). No question he’s the first pick. 2. Charlotte – Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Kentucky Michael Jordan punched a hole in his wall after Charlotte was summoned to[...]

The annual NBA re-draft: 2011, Kyrie Irving

Basketball, nba, NBA Draft May 27, 2012 0 Comments

Workouts for the 2012 NBA Draft have officially started and the NBA Playoffs are pretty deep at this point so it’s that time for a re-draft to see how team really did in last year’s NBA Draft. Note, however, that re-drafting is a difficult process and in some cases I will[...]

Josh Hamilton’s hot bat has generated a lot of buzz over the past week, and deservedly so. Hamilton has 11 hits in his last 22 at-bats. Eleven of those hits have gone over the fence for home runs. He has brought in 14 runs. All of a sudden, one of[...]

Rose’s ACL tells us one-and-done was good idea

Basketball, nba May 2, 2012 0 Comments

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but it wasn’t until Bulls’ guard Derrick Rose tore his ACL in game one of the first round NBA playoff series vs. the 76ers. A lot of people – well, like everyone - bashes on the one-and-done policy made famous by John Calipari[...]

Pujols and Bobby Rayburn: One of the same?

mlb, Movies & TV, sports May 1, 2012 1 Comment

Albert Pujols is having a Bobby Rayburn season so far and it’s freaking hilarious for Cardinals’ fans to watch. Bobby Rayburn is the character played by Wesley Snipes in “The Fan” (1996) who signs a big ole’ ridiculous contract with the San Francisco Giants, from the Atlanta Braves, and the[...]

About Me

about meThis started as a sports blog, trying to discuss everything in the world of athletics. Since I started blogging on a small blog called "Fifth and Inches" more than five years ago, I've found a few particular niches, including the NBA Draft, Movies, TV, and Timeflies music. All images associated with stories are not mine, unless they are screen captures.

Quick Statement

On this blog, you'll find many NBA mock drafts and movie reviews, among other things. I do not have access to NBA scouts or insider information, as major websites do, nor do I have the wealth of knowledge of well-known movie critics. I, like anyone else, have different tastes for movies and the reviews are my opinions. The mock drafts are just that, guesses based on team needs, best fits, etc.
