Notre Dame: What to do with all these running backs?

Football, ncaaf September 5, 2012 0 Comments

The Irish rushed for 293 yards Saturday against Navy — minus starting running back Cierre Wood and solid second, third or fourth choice Amir Carlisle. In their place, Theo Riddick rushed 19 times for 107 yards and 2 touchdowns. George Atkinson III rushed 9 times for 99 yards and 2[...]

Stop the madness at Notre Dame, ignore the alternate uniform phase

Football, ncaaf November 8, 2011 1 Comment

When I saw the uniforms Notre Dame football wore against Michigan in the second week of the season, I was thrown off. The Irish attempted to move into this alternate uniform phase, made famous by the Oregon Ducks (whom I commend for having wicked awesome uniforms), but they failed miserably[...]

Notre Dame wide receiver shows off sweet gloves: ‘What do you mean excessive celebration!?’

Football, ncaaf September 20, 2011 1 Comment

Saturday after an incredible pass-catch hook up between Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees and T.J. Jones, Jones celebrated by showing off the Irish’s new designer gloves (as shown in the picture on this post). After doing so, he was flagged for a personal foul penalty, for excessive celebration. What!?! Since[...]

Defensive backs still a glaring flaw in Irish defense

Football, ncaaf September 13, 2011 0 Comments

I hate to say this but the pass Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson completed to Ray Roundtree Saturday with 8 seconds left in the Michigan-Notre Dame game reminded me a lot of two moments, one a major thorn in Notre Dame history. In 2005, USC Trojan quarterback Matt Leinart completed a[...]

A shade too late, Tommy Rees named Notre Dame starting quarterback

Football, ncaaf September 6, 2011 0 Comments

It didn’t take Notre Dame football head coach Brian Kelly much time to rename his starting quarterback following Saturday’s loss to South Florida, which dropped the team from the top 25 national rankings. Dayne Crist, formerly the starting quarterback of the Irish, was 7-for-15 for 95 yards and an interception[...]

Notre Dame reinstates star receiver Michael Floyd

Football, ncaaf August 3, 2011 1 Comment

Notre Dame, hyped up as Phil Steele’s 6th best team in the nation, has reinstated its super star wide receiver, Michael Floyd, after he had been suspended since March 21. Notre Dame football head coach Brian Kelly kept Floyd on a short leash after his arrest in March for a[...]

About Me

about meThis started as a sports blog, trying to discuss everything in the world of athletics. Since I started blogging on a small blog called "Fifth and Inches" more than five years ago, I've found a few particular niches, including the NBA Draft, Movies, TV, and Timeflies music. All images associated with stories are not mine, unless they are screen captures.

Quick Statement

On this blog, you'll find many NBA mock drafts and movie reviews, among other things. I do not have access to NBA scouts or insider information, as major websites do, nor do I have the wealth of knowledge of well-known movie critics. I, like anyone else, have different tastes for movies and the reviews are my opinions. The mock drafts are just that, guesses based on team needs, best fits, etc.
